Upon arrival at the airport we will be welcomed by our guide. He will bring us to our comfortable, centrally located hotel. In the afternoon we will stroll around Ulaanbaatar. We will visit the Natural and the Historical Museums. We will have dinner at a local restaurant. (Hotel, L, D) 2nd day
After our breakfast at the hotel's restaurant we will leave Ulaanbaatar eastwards in the direction of the Khentii Mountains. The drive will take us into Gorkhi Terelj National Park. Passed Terelj village we will find a nice spot to set up our tented camp. (Tented Camp, B, L, D) 3rd day
Today we will set off for a five-day trek in the mountainous area of the Khentii. Depending on the level of the group, the vehicles will (or will not) support us for part of the exploration. In case the vehicles do not accompany us we will load our gear and food on pack horses. En Route we will enjoy the sound of streams and birdsong and we will pass by several nomad family. We will cross picturesque landscapes where valleys are covered with a huge range of wildflowers and where bird life is abundant. (Tented Camp, B, L, D) 4th and 5th day
More trekking through the alpine scenery of the Khentii Mountain. (Tented Camp, B, L, D) 6th day
During the day we will reach
Gunjiin monastery. This once huge monastery
was build in the 18th century by the Manchurians. Today, only the
main temple and some of the wall of the monastery remains. (Tented Camp, B, L, D) 7th day
Today we will trek along the Baruun Bayan River. (Tented Camp, B, L, D) 8th day
More trekking. In the afternoon we will meet our vehicles and drive back to Ulaanbaatar. (Hotel, B, L, D) 9th day
Today we will have a free day to explore further the town and to shop for souvenirs. For our last evening we will have a fare well dinner at one of the city's best restaurant. (Hotel, B, D) 10th day
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure
